Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Memento Mori by Lamb of God

Today marks 7 years since I started my blog. Since then I've posted over 2300 songs. When I started, I never thought I would have taken it this far. I hope you have enjoyed them. I hope to keep it going as long as I can.

I've been able to keep it going because good Metal continues to be released all the time. Today's Metal Track is brand new music from Lamb of God. Memento Mori is the title track off of their upcoming album due out this year. From the YouTube comments, "Memento Mori" is an ancient stoic phrase meaning "Remember you will die". You will also notice many references to our current state of event with the Coronavirus.

Keep it Metal!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Until It Sleeps by Metallica

Friends Don't Let Friends Get Friends Haircuts

Today's Metal Track was the moment heavy metal legends Metallica revealed to the world their short haircuts. It seems kind of silly today, but back in 1996 it was a big deal. So much so that Mike Inez wrote the aforementioned phrase on his bass during Alice In Chains' MTV Unplugged performance in which Metallica was in attendance.

Until It Sleeps is off of their 1996 album Load. The song is about Hetfield's mother's battle with cancer with "It" being the cancer. This song is also famous for being the first ever pirated mp3.

Weekend Wildcard - Cherry Pie by Warrant

In honor of Pi Day, this Weekend's Wildcard is Cherry Pie by Warrant. This is the title off of their 1990 album by the same name. This song was written in 15 minutes on a pizza box because the record label wanted a "Love in a Elevator" type song. The band has mixed feelings about the song because it overshadowed many of the better songs on the album,

The "Dirty, Rotten, Filthy, Stinking" at the begin of the track is a reference to their previous album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich. CC DeVille from Poison actually played the solo on the track as favor to front man Jani Lane. RIP Jani!!
