Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Suzerain by Anthrax

Adam and Stone, a little ditty to get you pumped for tonight! Today's Metal Track is Suzerain off of Anthrax's latest album For All Kings. It's the heaviest song on the album so of course it's one of my faves.

Seeing them play tonight will complete the Big Four (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax) for me. With Jonathan Donais now in the band, this might be their best lineup. He's fantastic (awesome solo on this track) and all the other members are from what is considered their classic lineup in the 80s.

In case you are wondering what Suzerain means: "a dominant state controlling the foreign relations of a vassal state but allowing it sovereign authority in its internal affairs"

The weekend wildcard for Scott Brame today is an a-ha song that is not Take On Me! I had this album on vinyl as a kid borrowed from my sister and I always liked this song better. The video is the sequel to the popular Take On Me video and is the 2nd in a 3-part series.

Stone's Artist of the Week: Arcade Fire #1

#1- No Cars Go

This is easily my favorite Arcade Fire song.  Of their 2007 album Neon Bible, this track is open to many interpretations.  The way I imagine it is that it is about your personal paradise... somewhere or something that makes you happy and is personal to you.  Not something that everyone can reach by a road or somewhere you can buy a ticket to go to.  Beyond the message, I think the song is excellently written, both lyrically and the emotion in the music.  I love the build-up and the "I don't know where we're going, but let's go!"  It is just a beautiful song all around and probably the track that finally made me a fan.
