Today's Metal Track is Got the Time by Anthrax. This cover song is off of their 1990 album Persistence of Time. It was originally recorded by Joe Jackson in 1979 on his debut album Sharp!
Jackson didn't really care for their version stating "I think it sounds kind of clumsy compared to the way
we did it on the Live album. I mean, our version is really smoking.
Theirs is actually slower than ours, and kind of lumpen. The way I feel
about it is, Thanks for the royalties, guys."
That Bass line!
Here is the original. I think both are great!
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
