Today's Metal Track is Godhead's Lament by Opeth. This is off of their 1999 album Still Life. The song starts out pretty brutal. If it's too much for you, at least listen to the part starting at 2:55 before you give up.
The album is about a man who is banished from his home town because he does not have the same faith as the rest of the town. He comes back to rekindle a relationship with a woman in town and things start to go bad.
"Searching my way to perplexion
In crumbling faith I saw her
Bearing her pain in the wilderness
The gleam of her eyes
In that moment she knew"
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
