Today's Metal Track is Descending by Lamb of God. This is off of their 2006 album Sacrament. Back when Jimmy and I lived in the Fraternity house, he had his drums set up in his room and I would bring my guitar up and we would jam to this song. It sounded just like this (just take my word on it :-b).
This song is about the singer's descent into alcoholism. He see's alcohol as both a god and a demon. On the one hand he worships it because it helps him deal with life, while on the other hand he blames it for all of his problems. Pretty vicious cycle. Randy Blythe, the singer who struggled with alcohol in real life, has now been sober for almost 4 years.
"This god that I worship
This demon I blame
Conspire as one, exactly the same
It's exactly the same"
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
