Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is Where Did You Sleep Last Night by Nirvana. This is taken from their 1993 performance on MTV Unplugged. The song is an old folk song dating back to the 1870s. It has gone by different names at times including "Black Girl" and "In the Pines". Some older versions of the song use "Black girl" instead of "My girl" as used in this version.
This particular version is a reinterpretation of Lead Belly's version from the 1940s. Kurt mentions in the video that Lead Belly is his favorite performer of all time. This performance received critical acclaim including praise from Neil Young. Speaking of Cobain's screaming on the final verse, Young stated his vocals were “Unearthly, like a werewolf, unbelievable.”
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
