Today's Metal Track is Baby Blue by Deafheaven. This is off of their newest album New Bermuda which was released just last year. I'm still a n00b with their material but they are definitely growing on me. I really like this song, especially the second half.
I really like the artwork for the album cover. It's an oil painting by artist Allison Schulnik titled Deaf Head #3. It was painted specifically for this album.
The outro is a recording of NJ traffic control telling folks to avoid the George Washington bridge due to lane closures directed by NJ Governor Chris Christie. Evidently he did it to spite the Mayor of Fort Lee, NJ. It's referred to as the Fort Lee lane closure scandal.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
