I honor of the passing of the great Chuck Berry, today's honorary Metal Track is Johnny B. Goode off of his 1958 album Chuck Berry is on Top. This track predates metal but it was a major influence on rock music and every genre that would come after it.
One of the most memorable uses of the song was in the 1985 movie Back to the Future where Marty McFly wails on the guitar in front of crowd set in 1955 who have never heard such fierce music. Marvin Berry then calls his cousin Chuck and holds up the phone saying this is that new sound he was looking for.
RIP Chuck!
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
