Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton. This song was written for the 1991 film Rush. The song won three Grammy awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1993.
Ok, now for the Debbie Downer part. This song was written about Clapton's 4 year old son who died in 1991. He fell from the 53rd floor of a New York apartment that was owned by his mother's friend. Clapton stated, "I almost subconsciously used music for myself as a
healing agent, and lo and behold, it worked... I have got a great deal
of happiness and a great deal of healing from music". I don't know if I could ever get over something like that but I'm glad he was able to.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
