What better way to get your weekend kicked off that a little Slayer! Today's Metal Track is the title track off of their 1998 album South of Heaven. This was the follow up album to their famous 1986 album Reign in Blood. The band deliberately slowed the pace down to offset the speed of that album. The intro to this song is super wicked!
One might think this song is about Hell but it is actually about the demoralization of society on Earth which is still "South of Heaven."
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
