How about a little Opeth to get your weekend started off right?
Today's Metal Track is The Night and the Silent Water off of their 1996 album Morningrise. This song was written about Mikael Ã…kerfeldt's grandfather who had just died before the recording of this album. This song is fantastic, as expected with Opeth, with some good melodies mixed in with death metal.
If you listen to nothing else, at least skip to the 7:45 mark. Great stuff!
You sleep in the light
Yet the night and the silent water
Still so dark...
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
