Today's Metal Track is Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr by Trivium. This is off of their 2005 album Ascendancy. Singer Matt Heafy said that this song "is a look at a villainous tyrant; one who can simply kill and destroy on will, push his faith upon all, be hated by all other powers around - and still be loved by many that he rules."
The band released a new album just last month. Matt Heafy blew out his voice in 2014 so he can't scream like he did in the past like on this song. It hasn't quite grown on me yet because of that. Maybe it will one day but to me this will always be Trivium. A great mix of screaming and clean vocals.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
