Once again, Happy 4th of July!
Today's Instrumental Track is our National Anthem as performed by Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock in 1969. This is one of the most iconic versions of the Anthem. One of the greatest American guitarist of all time at probably the most famous concert in American history performing our National Anthem. This was included on Jimi's 1992 greatest hits album The Ultimate Experience. I've had that CD since I was in like middle school so I've listen to this version a 1000 times.
This was at 9 in the morning and part of a long medley lasting nearly a half hour. The medley also included Voodoo Child, Purple Haze, and a 5 minute improv. Jimi passed away just over a year after this performance. He was only 27. RIP
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
