Today's Metal Track is The Day the World Went Away by Nine Inch Nails. This is off of his 1999 album The Fragile. Surprisingly this is NIN's highest charting single and the only one to break the top 20.
This song was used in the Terminator Salvation movie trailer back in 2009. It was also used in a recent episode of Person of Interest. I have never seen that showbut apparently it was used when one of the characters died.
I'd listen to the words he'd say
But in his voice I heard decay
The plastic face forced to portray
All the insides left cold and gray
There is a place that still remains
It eats the fear it eats the pain
The sweetest price he'll have to pay
The day the whole world went away
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
