Today's Metal Track is brought to you by Dream Theater. This is another one from their 1999 concept album Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory. In 2012, this album was voted as the number one all-time progressive album in a poll conducted by Rolling Stone.
This song is told from multiple points of view and revolve around a couple in 1928 who have split due to the man's battle with demons (Alcohol, drugs, and gambling). It is told from the perspective of the man with the demons, the man that comforted and seduced the woman when she came to him, and the man who has been hypnotized in present time who is trying to solve the mystery of the woman's death. The hypnotized man previously realized that he was the woman in a past life and that they share the same soul. Whew, I think I got that right. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
