Today's Metal Track is brought you by the mighty Opeth. This is off of the their 2005 album Ghost Reveries. This song is a great demonstration of Opeth's musicianship with super tight riffs, great solos, tempo changes, and a mixture of clean vocals and growls.
These guys are an example of everything that is right with music (Basically the opposite of Nickelback). Last year, Mikael Akerfeldt was awarded the SKAP (Swedish Composers and Lyricists) award which is given to Swedish musicians whom have significantly influenced Swedish music and culture.
Mikael stated "Through time I've been handed some awards and whatnot, but
this one resonates more in me personally. No glitz and glamour, just some
appreciation for what we and I do musically. It's well appreciated! Thanks - Stay Metal, Stay Brutal \m/"
We will Mikael, we will!!
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
