Guest hosting for Scott again. I only got one
LIKE yesterday, and it was from him. That's like your mom telling you
that you're smart. He will be back soon, don't worry.
Since today is the Weekend Wildcard, I thought I'd pick a song from
someone who is a bit of a wildcard himself... plus I know how much
metal heads generally love country music!!!1 Today's track is from a
guy who would really appreciate the idea of the Weekend Wildcard, Mr.
Hank Williams III.
SeƱor Tres, not surprisingly, plays country
music (and several variants). He's also played bass for Superjoint
Ritual.., and plays drums in a punk(ish) band called Arson Anthem (also
with Phil Anselmo). I don't know if they're still around, actually, I
wasn't that into it. Also, if you've ever been to one of Hank's shows,
you've likely seen Assjack as well at the end of the show. That's the
metal band he does sings for. Insane stuff, all of it.
Anyway,
the track is called "My Drinkin' Problem," and it is off the album
"Straight to Hell" from 2005 or 2006. This is probably the cleanest
song on the whole album. Why do I mention that? Cause of the FUN
FACT...
FUN FACT: "Straight to Hell" is the first country album required to carry the parental advisory sticker.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
