It's me again, your favorite guest host! Scott Brame
asked if I'd like to hold down the fort until Sunday, and I said, "SURE
THING PAL". Come back tomorrow to hear what I choose for the "Weekend
Wildcard" pick!
Your daily metal track for
Friday is from SLAYER, the greatest metal band ever (that isn't
Pantera). I chose SLAYER because they can play like crazy. The track I
picked, "Skeletons of Society," is evidence of this. It's track 7 off
"Seasons in the Abyss," released in late 1990.
The album
wasn't a big commercial success or anything, but it BLEEDS EXTREME
RIFFS... and hit men listen to it in their walkmans while they are
training for their next job. "Skeletons of Society" was the track that
got the most play on my tape.
FUN FACT: This album, and many
others by SLAYER, were produced at least in part by your favorite
rapper's producer. Shout out to Rick Rubin, yo. Prolific.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
