How about one more in memory of the late Ben E. King. Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is Stand by Me off of his 1962 album Don't Play That Song. There have been over 400 recorded versions of this song. That is astounding!
A few weeks before he died, his original version was inducted into the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
And since I forgot to mention it yesterday, Ben was born in Henderson on September 28, 1938.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
