This Weekend's Wildcard is Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode. This is the lead single off of their 1990 album Violator. This song has been covered by numerous artist including Marylin Manson, Sammy Haggar, and Johnny Cash. It has also been featured in countless movies, tv shows, and video games (Most recently NBA 2K15).
The song was inspired by the book Elvis and Me by Pricilla Presley. Martin Gore stated "It's a song about being a Jesus for somebody else, someone to give you hope and care. It's about how Elvis Presley was her man and her mentor and how often that happens in love relationships; how everybody's heart is like a god in some way, and that's not a very balanced view of someone, is it?"
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
