Today's Metal Track is one of the most iconic songs from the Godfathers of Heavy Metal, Black Sabbath. War Pigs is the opening track off of their 1970 album Paranoid which is on of the most influential albums in metal history.
The song originated from some of the bands jam sessions at The Beat Club in Switzerland. The guys had to play multiple sets and when they ran out of material, they turn to jam sessions. I chose the live version 1) because it's an awesome performance (Especially Ward on drums), 2) because I didn't like the other studio versions posted for various reasons, and 3) This contains alternate lyrics compared to the studio version.
The instrumental outro is know as Luke's Wall.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
