Today's Metal Track is Suite Sister Mary off of Queensryche's 1988 concept album Operation: Mindcrime. This concept album follows Nikki, a heroin addict who has been brainwashed by a politician who goes by the name Dr. X. Whenever Dr. X says the word mindcrime, Nikki becomes a puppet and is made to carry out the commands of Dr. X, basically becoming an assassin.
Nikki befriends a prostitute-turn-nun, Sister Mary, and he begins to question the role he has taken with Dr. X. Seen as a threat, Dr. X asks Nikki to kill Sister Mary along with a corrupt priest. Nikki kills the priest but not Mary and goes back to tell Dr. X that he is out. When he goes back to get Mary, he finds her dead. He does not know if it was by his own hand or someone else's but the police find him with a gun and arrest him.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
