Today's Metal Track is Clenching the Fists of Dissent by Machine Head. This is the opening track off of their killer 2007 album The Blackening. This is an anti-war song written about the post 9/11 environment and the Iraqi war.
So how do they sleep?
While our mothers weep
They're selling our souls
And our blood for oil
Robert Flynn said that this track was one of the most difficult songs to record. "...he attributed the difficulty to the amount of tracks; the introduction of the song has 90, including multiple three-part harmony with two guitars, 20 tracks of snare drum, four tracks of kick drum, and military marching cymbals. The song continues with five electric guitars, three acoustic guitars and two bass guitars."
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
