This Weekend's Wildcard is She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult. I can't believe it has taken me this long to post the first song by The Cult. These guys are awesome. This is off of their 1985 album Love. This song was the band's first hit and gain them recognition amongst their peers like Bono, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury.
Straight from singer Ian Atsbury: “She Sells Sanctuary” was probably referring to the power of finding
solitude in a woman’s arms and the matriarchal energy, whether it be an
actual physical person or in a spiritual sense, the greatest matriarch,
and thinking of the cosmos as a female energy rather than a male energy.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
