Today marks 11 years since the tragic death of Dimebag Darrell. He was one of the greatest heavy metal guitarist to ever live and one of the most influential guitarist in modern metal. He was known for his great personality and was loved by fans and his peers.
Today's Metal Track is Hollow by Pantera. This is the closing track off of their 1992 album Vulgar Display of Power. It is about a friend who has slipped in to a coma. No one is sure if it is based on a real person or not though.
RIP Dime. Your music and spirit still lives on! \m/
I always think of this when I hear this song:
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
