Today's Metal Track is Testify by Rage Against the Machine. This is the opening track off of their 1999 album The Battle of Los Angeles. The lyrics feature are quote from George Orwell's novel 1984: "Who controls the past (now), controls the future. Who control the present (now) controls the past."
The video, directed by Michael Moore, shows two aliens plotting to conquer the earth by "releasing the mutant." That mutant is the combination of Bush and Gore who seemingly have the same policies on important issues. The video demonstrates the lack of choices we have as voters. This came out during the 2000 Presidential race.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
