Today's Metal Track is brought to you by Down. This heavy metal supergroup was formed in 1991 in New Orleans by Phil Anselmo of Pantera, Pepper Keenan of Corrosion of Conformity, Kirk Windstein and Todd Strange of Crowbar, and Jimmy Bower who played with multiple other acts.
This is the closing track off of their 1995 debut album NOLA which of course is the abbreviation of New Orleans, LA. Their style of music is often referred to as sludge metal. It's no Pantera but it's good.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
