Today's Metal Track is brought to you by Sepultura. This is off of the Brazilian band's 6th album Roots which was released in 1996. It is the best known song by the band and remains a concert staple. I got to see them perform in Atlantic City in 2012 at Metallica's Orion Festival.
The video was filmed in the catacombs underneath the city of Sao Paulo, where the Brazilian slaves were sold and tortured. It shows Brazilians practicing Capoeira (martial art/dance) and native tribes playing the drums in their tribe uniforms.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
