This Weekend's Wildcard is brought to you by The Mars Volta. This comes off of their most recent album Noctourniquet which was released in 2012. Unfortunately it looks like this was their final album as the band has called it quits. This song was also featured on the soundtrack for MLB 12: The Show.
"Zed and Two Naughts" refers to A Zed & Two Noughts, a 1985 film written and directed by Peter Greenaway;
additionally, Zed being the letter Z, and the two naughts being O's, the word that can be pulled from the title is zoo,
which relates to "The Boy With the Voice in his Knives", the story
written by Bixler-Zavala. In the track-by-track analysis of the album,
Bixler-Zavala likens the protagonist's home life as being "a zoo".
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
