Today's Metal Track is The Hellion/Electric Eye by Judas Priest. These two tracks are the opening tracks of the band's 1982 album Screaming for Vengeance with the The Hellion being the 41 second intro.
This song is inspired by the book 1984 by George Orwell and refers to the satellite that watches over the citizens at all times as part of the Big Brother style of government. When citizen are caught rebelling, they "disappear".
"Always in focus
You can't feel my stare
I zoom into you
But you don't know I'm there"
I always think of Carl when I hear Screaming for Vengeance. Starts at 0:50:
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
