"Trust us and we will all be safe.
We are the new government."
Today's Metal Track is Fossil Genera (A Feed from Cloud Mountain) by Between the Buried and Me off of their 2009 album The Great Misdirect. This quirky song has a lot of connections with the concept story in their most recent album, mostly the Night Owls. The final 4 minutes of this song gives me chills; so good.
This song is divided into three parts; Beyond the Satellites, Below the Satellites, and Before the Satellites.
Beyond the satellites, the leaders (Night Owls) via "A Feed from Cloud Mountain", have been watching everything below the satellite for centuries.
Below the satellites (Earth), it is explained to the people that the Night Owls will be coming in from outer space and will overthrow the government. The people of Earth have mocked the stories and ideas of the Night Owls for too long and now they are taking over and will be in control of their thoughts from then on.
Before the satellites, or before the rise of civilizations, the Night Owls are creating their plan to take control over the human race before they become gods and threaten the existence of the Night Owls. "In simple times we must take control"
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
