Today's Metal Track is Prophecy by Soulfly. This is the title and opening track off of their 2004 album Prophecy. Max Cavalera, the lead singer and guitarist, formed this band after leaving Sepultura in 1996. On this album, Max decided to use two different bassists. On this track, David Ellefson from Megadeth provides bass. I had no idea he ever played with Soulfly until I watched this video and saw him.
That intro is pretty sweet.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
