Today's Metal Track is Reckoning Day by Megadeth. This is the opening track off of their 1994 album Youthanasia.
Don't want no revenge
Ain't no pay back time
It ain't called getting even
Here comes the reckoning day
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!

Weekend Wildcard - Ramblin' Man by Allman Brothers Band RIP Gregg
My father was a gambler down in Georgia,

And I was born in the back seat of a Greyhound bus
Rollin' down highway 41.
Lord, I was born a ramblin' man
In honor of the passing of Gregg Allman, this Weekend's Wildcard is Ramblin' Man by Allman Brothers Band. This is off of their 1973 album Brothers and Sisters. RIP Gregg!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Here Comes Revenge by Metallica
Today's Metal Track is Here Comes Revenge off of Metallica's newest album. While it is my second favorite song, next to Spit Out the Bone, it is definitely my favorite video.
Some videos detract from the song, some are just meh, and a few, like this one, enhance the song. I can't listen to the song without thinking of this dark and awesome video. Jessica Cope, who also directed some of Steven Wilson's videos, did an excellent job with this. I'm not sure what to call her style, but I like it.

Easy Like Sunday Morning Track - Seasons by Chris Cornell
One last track in memory of the late Chris Cornell. Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is Seasons which was featured in the 1992 movie Singles and again in the 2013 movie Man of Steel. I don't think I ever watched either of these movies but this song is great. Looks like I should at least watch Singles. Chris even makes a cameo appearance in the film.
And I'm lost behind
The words I'll never find
And I'm left behind
As seasons roll on by

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Reach Down by Temple of the Dog RIP Chris Cornell
Back in 1990 Chris Cornell formed a band to pay tribute to his friend, Andrew Wood, who died of a heroin overdose. Andrew was the lead singer of Mother Love Bone and was Chris's roommate at the time he passed.
In the aftermath of this tragedy came the formation of Pearl Jam. All 5 current members of Pearl Jam were in this band. But without a doubt, Chris Cornell steals the show on this album. RIP Chris!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Fell on Black Days by Soundgarden RIP Chris Cornell
Man, I haven't been this bummed about a musician dying since Dime back in 2004. When I first saw it this morning I thought it must have been a hoax. Hard to tell what's going on in people's lives. If you or someone you know is suffering from depression, please get help. RIP Chris. Your voice will live on!
Today's Track is Fell on Black Days off of their 1994 album Superunkown.
Chris: "Fell on Black Days" was like this ongoing fear I've had for years...It's a feeling that everyone gets. You're happy with your life, everything's going well, things are exciting—when all of a sudden you realize you're unhappy in the extreme, to the point of being really, really scared. There's no particular event you can pin the feeling down to, it's just that you realize one day that everything in your life is F@#!ed!
Right in the feels :(

Easy Like Sunday Morning Track - The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel
Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel. This is off of their 1964 debut album Wednesday Morning 3 A.M. The album was not successful at all and the duo actually broke up. A year later, this track began to gain airplay. So much so that the band reunited and recorded another album with a different mix of this song. I like this original better though.
I always think of the Old School scene where Will Ferrell takes a freaking dart to the neck and falls in the pool.
