Scott's Metal Track of the Day - The Same Asylum As Before by Steven Wilson

Being a little liberal again with my "Metal" track today to include my man Steven Wilson. He produced one of the greatest progressive metal albums of all time, Opeth's Blackwater Park, so he is forever deemed metal in my book lol.

The Same Asylum As Before is off of his latest album To The Bone which came out in 2017. Unfortunately I missed him when he came through on his tour but apparently this video was used on stage. Since the tour is over, they released the video today. The loghead guy with twig hands appeared in a previous video, Harmony Korine, which I posted about 3 years ago.

I love the faces on the papermache guy lol.

Scott's Instrumental Metal Track of the Day - Orion by Metallica

In honor of tonight's show, today's Instrumental Metal Track is my favorite song by my favorite band off of the greatest heavy metal album of all time. The guitar and bass solos from 3:58 - 7:31 are just a thing of beauty. For some reason, when I was little, I always pictured a lady slowly dancing with a basket of fruit on her head. I know it sounds weird, but to me it was beautiful and fitting.

It's songs like this that make me weep, thinking about what the world was robbed of when Cliff left us too soon. This will be the 5th time I've seen Metallica and they have yet to play this live. I think mostly out of respect for Cliff (RIP). Maybe tonight is the night.
