Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Wallflower by Jinjer

So excited to see Jinjer for the first time tomorrow night with In This Moment and Slipknot. Even better that I get to experience it with Jack. I think Tatiana may be the best female metal singer I've heard.  Who's your favorite?

Today's Metal Track is the title track off of their 2021 album Wallflowers.

Scott Instrumental Metal Track of the Day - Micro-Aggressions by Animals As Leaders

Yesterday marked 9 years since I started my daily Metal Tracks. Never thought I'd make it this long. Guess I might as well shoot for 10 at this point. Luckily there is enough metal in the world for me to stick with my "no repeats" rule.

And luckily awesome new metal is still being release every week. Today's Instrumental Track is new music from the 8-string playing monsters in Animals as Leaders. I have a hard enough time with 6. Tosin Abasi and Javier Reyes are just insane. This is Micro-Aggressions off of Parrhesia which came out last Friday.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - On The Hunt by Corrosion of Conformity

I'm just like you baby... I'm on the hunt

Today's Metal Track is a cover of one of my favorite Skynyrd tracks by Raleigh's own Corrosion of Conformity. On The Hunt was originally released on Lynyrd Skynrd's 1975 album Nuthin' Fancy. Discovered this on Liquid Metal today. COC recorded this version in 2005 but didn't release it until 2015.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Throes of Rejection by Pantera

On this day, 28 years ago - the heaviest record to ever debut at Number 1 on the Billboard charts was released. Far Beyond Driven beat out Bonnie Raitt & Ace of Base for the top spot!

Today's Metal Track is Throes of Rejection by Pantera. This is the final heavy track on the album followed by the relaxing cover of Black Sabbath's Planet Caravan.

This is feeding what I am!

RIP Dime and Vinnie!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Put Your Back Into the Oar by Amon Amarth

One of these days I'm going to convince Kristen to give me control of the music at Orangetheory so I can blast this while Kevin and I crush the rowers. Today's Metal Track is Put Your Back Into The Oar by Amon Amarth. This is a brand new standalone single but the band has indicated they are working on a new album.

From the band:
"Much has been said about fans coming to our shows to have fun and doing the 'epic Viking row'. Well we thought it was a good idea to write a song about it! This one is for you, the fans, wherever you are - and may Odin guide you as you row to your destiny in uncharted seas!"

ROW!
ROW!
ROW!
The oar is your best friend!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - D. N. R. by Testament

The big announcement in the metal world today was legendary Slayer drummer, Dave Lombardo, rejoining Testament after the departure of Gene Hoglan. During Dave's previous stint with the band, he recorded drums on their 1999 album The Gathering. Today's Metal Track, D.N. R. (Do Not Resuscitate), is the opening track off of that album. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
