Okay, stealing this one from Jamie Nickerson today for Halloween.
Today's brutal Metal Track is What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse by The Black Dahlia Murder. This is off of their 2007 album Nocturnal. The song title comes from the Nintendo game Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. This was also the name of the band's first demo album in 2001.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!

Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is After All by Peter Cetera by Cher. The duo recorded this song for the 1989 film Chances Are. The song was nominated for an Oscar but lost to Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid. Hard to argue that one.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Thrown Into the Fire by Trivium
Forgive them Father, for they not know!
Now THIS is the Trivium I fell in love with and never thought I would hear again. After Matt blew his voice out a few years back he had to switch to all clean vocals. It just wasn't the same. It was missing that edge, that heaviness that you could feel when it kicked you in the gut. This is the closing track off of their album The Sin and the Sentence which just came out last week and boy is it a doozy. The whole album is great but this track is one of the best I've ever heard from them. It destroys \m/
This is Thrown Into the Fire
Be careful, I'm pretty sure they hit the infamous brown note in the intro.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Cherub Rock by The Smashing Pumpkins
Freak out
Give in
Today's Metal Track is Cherub Rock by The Smashing Pumpkins. This is the opening track off of their 1993 breakthrough album Siamese Dream. I love the sound of the guitars on this track. The band used standard tuning with an E octave play at the 7th fret.
Billy uses the term hipster which I didn't even realize was a thing back when they recorded it in 1992.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Insane by Cavalera Conspiracy
Today's Metal Track is Insane by Cavalera Conspiracy. Literally insane, that's the name of the song. This is off of their upcoming album Psychosis which come out next month.
The name of the band comes from the two brothers, Max and Igor Cavalera. The two originally founded the Sepultura during the 80s but had a falling out 1996. During that time, Max went on to form Soulfly. The two finally reconciled and formed this band in 2007. Ain't that sweet?

Hopefully the two have reunited for an encore performance in heaven! Thanks to Amie for the special request.
