Let there be light!
Let there be moon!
Let there be stars and let there be you!
Let there be monsters, let there be pain!
Let us begin to live again!
From the top to the bottom: GENESIS!
Today's Metal Track is brand new music from the fun and incredibly talented Devin Townsend. Of course he released it the day after I posted a different track by him last week. This is off of his upcoming album Empath which comes out next month.
Enjoy the quirky, eclectic video which seems like a window into Devin's brain.
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Black Brick by Deafheaven
Brand spanking new metal today from Deafheaven and it's heavy and awesome! Black Brick is a newly released B-side from their brilliant album Ordinary Corrupt Human Love. I can see why this was left out though because it doesn't really fit with the rest of the album. This sounds more like it could have been off of the previous album, New Bermuda.

Isa: Still - Standing - Empowered
Isa: Watching you die, with tears of ice
Isa: Detached - Silent - Ecstasy

I've been jamming to this song for the past 4 days and can't get enough. It's fantastic and I can't believe I'm just now discovering it. Isa is the title track off of Enslaved's 2004 album by the same name. The whole album is great and I've had it one repeat as well. So expect to see more tracks in the future from the Norwegian greats.

Easy Like Sunday Morning Track - Dear Prudence cover by The Wooks
Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is a cover of the Beatles' Dear Prudence by The Wooks. Heard this on the radio last night at my dad's and really enjoyed it. The song was written by John Lennon about Mia Farrow's sister, Prudence, who became obsessed about meditation and became extremely seclusive. The song was originally released on the Beatles' 1968 White Album. The Wooks released this version last October.
Dear Prudence, open up your eyes
Dear Prudence, see the sunny skies
The wind is low, the birds will sing
That you are part of everything
Dear Prudence, won't you open up your eyes?

Dear Prudence, see the sunny skies
The wind is low, the birds will sing
That you are part of everything
Dear Prudence, won't you open up your eyes?
