As I state every year, I'm always thankful for great music that is beautiful, thoughtful, inspiring, and intelligent. Opeth is one of those bands that always checks those boxes. Likewise, Jess Cope is an artist and director that always checks those boxes.
As a follow up to yesterday's Metal Track, today's track is its English companion, Universal Truth, by Opeth. The video was written and direct by the magnificent Jess Cope who has done wonderful work for artist including Metallica, Steven Wilson, and now Opeth. She also recently announced that she is expecting a baby so big congrats to her!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Pneuma by Tool
What a great show last night! Tool was number 1 on my list of bands I haven't seen so now I gotta figure out who my new number 1 is. Steven Wilson maybe?
Today's Metal Track is Pneuma off of their new album, Fear Inoculum, which came out this year. Like with many Tool songs, this one took a little while to grow on me. Tempest is still my favorite on the album but this one makes a strong. Starts off slow but man does it finish strong.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Die To Live by Volbeat ft. Neil Fallon
Today's Metal Track is and absolutely jamming track from start to finish from the Danish band Volbeat. Die To Live features guest vocals for Neil Fallon of Clutch. What the track lacks in length, it makes up for in spunk. There's a lot going on in this track but I think Neil is the highlight of the song.
