Hindsight is always 2020!
But looking back is still a bit fuzzy
Happy New Year! Today's Metal Track is Sweating Bullets by Megadeth. This is off of their 1992 album Symphony of Destruction. I had quite a few metal cassettes back in the day but this was one of the first few CDs I ever owned. And this Christmas i put this album on Jack's new iPod! Raise em right!
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Nero Forte by Slipknot
I say Clown has one of the greatest gigs in the business. "I'm just going to dress up like a clown and bang on this keg with a bat, sound good? Ok, start rolling"
Today's Metal Track is a killer track by Slipknot that they just released a new music video for. Nero Forte is off of their latest album, We Are Not Your Kind, which came out earlier this year.
Was watching this we Drew and said "These guys are crazy" lol. He still liked it though.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Now That We're Dead by Metallica
Now that we're dead, my dear, we can be together
Now that we're dead, my dear, we can live forever
Today's Metal Track is Now That We're Dead off of Metallica's 2016 album Hardwired...To Self-Destruct. I still think they should work this song into a zombie show or film one day!

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Orion by King Buffalo
Today's Metal Track is a laid back track by King Buffalo. Orion is the opening and title track off of their 2016 album by the same name. While it's not Metallica Orion good, it is still a great track.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - I Am One by The Smashing Pumpkins
Had dinner with my buddy Paul tonight and we were talking about Smashing Pumpkins. I hadn't listened to Gish in a long time and he was lauding it so decided to give it a fresh listen on the way home. Forgot how jamming the lead track was.
Today's Metal Track, I Am One, is the first ever single released by the Pumpkins. It was originally recorded as a demo in 1990 and later released on their 1991 debut album Gish.

It ain't me, it ain't me...
Today's Metal Track is a cover of the CCR classic Fortunate Son by Clutch. You'll never beat the original and Fogerty's voice but I really like this version. This is part of their Weathermaker Vault Series which is a series of singles they released throughout the year.

Scott's Metal track of the Day - Jewel by Marty Friedman (featuring Jason Becker)
Today's Instrumental Metal Track is Jewel by Marty Friedman (featuring Jason Becker). This is off of his 1988 album Dragon's Kiss.
"Jason and I were in the Orange County airport waiting for a plane so we opened our guitar cases and wrote this in about 10 minutes right there at the gate in the airport. It was nothing unusual for us to just start playing anywhere. We really didn't care about what else was going on, if we wanted to jam, we just did. As we wrote this, we knew immediately that we both loved the piece so we began to fight over who was going to get the song on his solo album. This was right as we were both gathering material for our solo records, but we knew only one of us could get the song. Neither of us wanted to give it up! Eventually we decided to flip a coin and I won." - Marty
