Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is I Remember You by Skid Row. This is off of their 1989 self-titled debut album. This track was written by band mates Rachel Bolan and Dave "the Snake" Sabo.
Sebastian Bach
commented, "'I Remember You' was the #1 prom song in the United States
of America in the year 1990....You talk about making memories! Literally
the whole country of America did their prom dance to 'I Remember You'
one year, and that's a real heavy memory to beat."
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!

This Weekend's Wildcard is Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News. This track was written for the 1985 film Back to the Future. It is used a few times during the movie. First when Marty was skateboarding to school and later when Marty's band plays a hard rock version of the song for a battle of the bands audition. During the audition, one of the judges played by Huey Lewis says that it is just too darn loud.

Kids, roller skating, lunchboxes, playing makeup, Marilyn Manson... wait what?
Today's Metal Track is Lunchbox by Marilyn Manson. This is the opening track off of his 1994 debut album Portrait of an American Family. This song was inspired by Florida legislation in 1972 that made it illegal for kids to take metal lunchboxes to school because many were using them as weapons. The song talks about Manson as a kid when he was pushed around bullies.

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - ...And the Great Cold Death of the Earth by Agalloch
Today's Metal Track is ...And the Great Cold Death of the Earth by Agalloch. This is off of their 2002 album The Mantle. This is a very chill metal song with a heavy folk metal influence. It's is about the end of the world at the hand of humans. The second verse in the song is an excerpt from the Cherokee folk tale "Earth Making":
"Earth is floating on the waters like an island,
Hanging from four rawhide ropes
Fastened at the top of the sacred four directions
The ropes are tied to the ceiling of the sky
When the ropes break, this world will come
Tumbling down and all living things will fall with it and die"

Scott's Metal Track of the Day - Sleep Now in the Fire by Rage Against the Machine
Today's Metal Track is Sleep Now in the Fire by Rage Against the Machine. This is off of their 1999 album The Battle of Los Angeles. This song is about greed and criticisms of government actions during wartime.
The video was directed by Michael Moore who can been seen in the video. The annotations made during the video and the quote at the end are not made up. The quote was from politician Gary Bauer following an incident outside of fellow Republican Alan Keyes' 2000 primary campaign town hall event, where Keyes jumped into a mosh pit formed while Rage Against the Machine was playing. \m/
Tom Morello's solo is played by simply using feedback from the amp, along with using his whammy bar to adjust the pitch of the feedback. By flicking his toggle switch on and off, he is able to create the high-pitched solo.

Easy Like Sunday Morning Track - Lucille by Kenny Rogers
Today's Easy Like Sunday Morning Track is Lucille by Kenny Rogers. This is off of his self titled 1977 album and was his first solo hit. The song is about a man who meets a woman at a bar who had just left her husband. The husband then shows up with the famous line "You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille, with four hungry children and a crop in the field."
Kenny got the idea for the song from the talk show Dinah! The famous line from the song was taken directly from one of the callers. I've heard the line played at piano bars but with added words that I will not post here :).
