Today's Metal Track is brand new music from one of best thrash metal bands of all time. I've been listening to Overkill since I was a wee lad in the late 80s and this track holds true to their roots. Which is something we have come to expect with Overkill. Blitz sounds just as good as ever. There is no one else like him.

The Surgeon was released today as the first single off of their upcoming album, Scorched, set to be released April 14th. Enjoy!

Scott's Instrumental Metal Track of the Day - Loaded to the Gunwales by The Depth Beneath Us

As a follow up to my post this weekend about the band who reached out to me, today's Instrumental Metal Track is Loaded to the Gunwales by The Depth Beneath Us. And boy is it fantastic. The song starts off chill and just continues to get better. Those final two minutes are spectacular. Great work Matt and company. This is off of their debut self-titled album which came out last week and will be streaming everywhere this Friday.

Today's Instrumental Metal Track is Ego Death by Polyphia featuring Steve Vai. Just a ridiculous amount of talent in one song. Very cool to see the new generation working with a legend. This is off of their newest album, Remember That You Die, which came out back in October.

Today's Metal Track is Nightingale by the English prog metal band Haken. It was released as a single back in April and marked the return of original keyboardist Pete Jones. They have announced a new album for 2023 titled Fauna. Not sure if this will be included or if is a standalone single.

Today's Metal Track is Serenity Painted Death by Opeth. This is off of their 1999 concept album Still Life. In this part of the story, the protagonist has discovered his love, Melinda, has been murdered and he goes on a rampage killing those responsible.

Today's Metal Track is Life in Hell by Megadeth. This brand new music video was released earlier today and the track comes from their latest album, The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead, which came out last month.
