This Weekend's Wildcard is I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty. The YouTube clip is mislabeled. This is off of Tom Petty's first solo album Full Moon River (1989) and is not a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers release.
Recently, Sam Smith (Never heard of him before) put out a song, Stay With Me, that uses almost the exact melody from this song. Petty's publishing company reached out to Sam Smith's publisher and they agreed to give Petty and Jeff Lynn co-writing credits on the song. You will hear people say that Tom Petty sued him or threatened to sue but it was nothing like that.
Here is the Sam Smith Song
Exploring Heavy Metal and all its glory. Heavy Metal is often misunderstood and thought to be just a bunch of guys banging and screaming when in fact it can be extremely thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere. Expect some throw-down-head-banging, chill mood metal, and gloomy death metal that you're probably not going to hear on the radio. On the weekends we'll mix things up with a Weekend Wildcard and an Easy Like Sunday Morning Track to get you over your hangover!
